Just have to say...

So I like to scroll through Pinterest every once in a while. I know I'm married...but, since wedding dresses are kinda my thing, I search "wedding gowns" pretty often. Sometimes I'm looking for a specific idea, or for some inspiration, but most of the time because wedding dresses are my kind of eye candy!
To get to my point...in some of my searching, I've found some pins that just tickle me pink...photos of my brides in their dresses that I've altered! I love it!

Some of the pins...

Oh, so fun!

I'll love you forever if you help me out...

So, I'm not usually one to self-promote or ask for much, but I have a favor to ask...

My fiance and I entered a contest to win a wedding package. We're poor college students who work our little bums off to pay the rent, and we could seriously use this!! Just go to http://www.tellyourstoryutah.com/ , watch our video (we're couple #12) and give us your vote! It only takes a few seconds!

Also stay tuned for a few more alterations! I'm somehow finding time to do them even in the midst of planning my own wedding...yay!

DaVinci Gown

This is a great gown...it is simple and elegant, and looks beautiful with sleeves too...

(I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the back of the dress, but the pleats
continued with a lace-up all the way up the back)

I don't know the designer of this dress...but it was gorgeous...

This dress was a sample gown purchased from a shop in NYC...a beautiful champagne-colored dress with intricate beadwork on the bodice.

Because the bodice of the dress didn't have lace appliques or pleating I could use to cover the seam, it was done completely with beading. Beading takes more time and is a little trickier, but once it all came together, it turned out beautiful.

Allure Lace

This lace gown is one of my favorites. It's so slinky and light...I love it! It is actually a 2-piece ensemble - a thin charmeuse slipdress underneath, with a sheer lace dress that goes over it. When I altered it, I kept it as two separate dresses; the lace layer covered a bit more than the satin, so it extended over all the edges to keep that gorgeous sheer lace look.

Here the neckline has been raised and most of the keyhole in the back was filled in. Don't worry though, we kept part of that beautiful keyhole...

One of a Kind

This bride found her dress at a designer shop in New York. It was a one-of-a-kind sample - nobody else will ever have this dress!

I unfortunately don't have any pictures of it completely strapless. You can get a pretty good idea here though; the photo below shows the dress at it's early stages, and you can clearly see the line where the dress originally ended...
The seams were then beaded over to make the transition just about invisible...
I loved the rounded neckline on this dress. Smoothing out corners on the neckline also takes attention away from any seam that might be slightly visible.

Petal sleeves and buttons all the way up the back!

Maggie Sottero Victoriana

Maggie's "Victoriana" is the classic fairytale ballgown that every little girl dreams of when they imagine their wedding day.  It's gorgeous! I have altered this dress once before, but this bride chose a different sleeve style, so I thought I'd post this one as well...

Maggie Sottero "Hunter"

I've loved adding to this dress. The Hunter is an amazing dress to begin with, but I might like it even better with the sleeves and sweetheart neckline.

The bride chose a sweetheart neckline instead of the straight neckline that

the dress had originally. Good choice I think, that neckline makes it so unique.

Finished top and sleeves!

This is such a beautiful dress, and the bride had some great design ideas that were fun to work with. It turned out lovely...
